Q3: Sophie & Creighton

What is your opinion of Sophie and Creighton’s relationship throughout the story?

53 comments:

  1. In my opinon, I think Sophie and Creighton's relationship is like a rollercoaster. In the beginning, their relationship starts out being hatred and not really caring or wanting to have anything to do with eachother. You might describe it as being cold or acting like the person doesn't exist. You are soon to find out though, that later in the book, they start realizing that eachother are important and how they can teach eachother lessons about different things, and then they start becoming friends.

  2. Sophie and Creighton's relationship started kinda bad because she is from France and Creighton is born in England and those countries never got a long very well. From the all the wars they have had against each other. As the story progressed they got to become better friends.

  3. Sophie and Creighton fight a lot. They forget about humility and don't show respect for another. Sometimes they get along, but I think they fight more than they get along. After Ben Franklin dies though, they are forced to work together to run the printing shop.

  4. I think the relationship between Sophie and Creighton started out badly because they both couldn't see past each others differences. Throughout the story, they got to know each other more and not care about what their countries background with war was and become friends.

  5. In my opinion Creighton and Sophie’s relationship is very up and down. When Creighton first arrived in New Orleans to be brought to Dr. Franklin’s house they didn’t start off well because Sophie found out that Creighton was born in England. After a while they began to trust each other and Creighton started to work in the print shop. When Creighton left to go convince his uncle that he had news of the patriot attack he left Sophie in a little less than happy mood. Later Creighton came back with Peter and his father. Sophie forgave him and they went on being friends.

  6. I think that Creighton and Sophie are a little bit awkward between each other, and it seems that a potential romance between Sophie and Creighton. They are a little clumsy when they are around each other, so it is a little bit of a love hate relationship.(OMG I POSTED THIS COMMENT FROM MY DSi!)

  7. I think Sophie is sometimes jealous of Creighton. But Sophie cant run the printing shop "good" without him. As they work together I think they both start liking each other but they both do not have good patience with each other. Towards the end I think they finally understand each other.

  8. When Sophie and Creighton first meet their relashonship was kind of bumpy. Sophie didn't like Creighton because he was British. As the start to work and live together they start having tolerance for one and other and Creighton starts looking a lot more American than British.

  9. In my opinion Creighton and Sophies relationship starts out bad but then gets better as the book goes on. In the beginning they have little respect for each other and are mean to each other. But later they learn they need to work together to keep the printing shop going. By the end they are nice to each other.

  10. Sophie and Creighton are just both lost. Creighton and sophie eventually start liking each other. they grew closer with all the obstacles they had to go through together.in the end i belive they have become good friends and care for each other.

  11. Sophie and Creighton have a deep relationship because they fight a lot which shows you that they have feelings for each other the plus side is that they do spend a lot of time together but the down side is that Creighton is British who fought the French in the war which is what Sophie is.

  12. when creighton and sophie first meet they dont get along with eachother because creighton considers himself an english gentleman and sophie still mourns for what happened to her home and family; which happened because of the british. in the middle of the book creighton is just figuring out which side he supports and sophie andcereighton start to get along but creighton leaves with peter and arnold to help the patriots. this happens right after sophie and he get in a fight. during the end when creighton comes back with his sick father, sophie forgives creighton and they become very close friends.

  13. My opinion on Sophie and Creightons relationship in the beginning is a little strange. Creighton starts out judging Sophie but she gets mean when she realizes he is an English man. In the middle of their relationship things start to improve and they seem to not be as upset with each others presence as much as they had before. Near the end Sophie and Creightons relationship heals and Sophie likes Creighton a lot more now and they enjoy being around each other more.

  14. Creighton and Sophie have a relationship in which Sophie doesn't like Creighton because he is British. She thinks he is as clumsy and heartless as every other British soldier. Creighton later gains her trust and friendship as they work together to fix the wrongs that have been done to them.

  15. In the beginning of the book, Sophie and Creighton don't get along very well. Creighton thinks of himself as a gentleman while Sophie works on virtues so they have very different opinions. In the middle, they seem to find a middle ground where they can just work together and in the end they turn out to be really good friends.

  16. I think that Sophie and Creighton's relationship is kind of a confusing one, because at first Sophie is very annoyed by Creighton and he doesn't really care all that much. In the end, however, because Sophie had worked so hard on her virtues Sophie and Creighton end up being pretty good friends

  17. In my opinion Creighton's and Sophie's relationship is bad to start. Sophie doesen's like the fact that he is English. There are both out of it though. Once they got there lifes together they relized that they liked each other. At the end of the book i think they are really good freinds

  18. I thank that Sophie and Creighton relashionshiop would have been rely bad but Ben had Sophie work on her vertuies so they were friends

  19. When Creighton and Sophie met each other, they didn't get along at all, which is usually how most friendships start. During the book, they started to understand how them being mad at each other, and not getting along affected the ones around them. At the end of the book, they enjoyed each other's company.

  20. Sophie and Creighton don't like each other to start off with. They argued a lot over humility and many other things. As the story progressed they get to understand each other a bit more and actually begin to like each other.

  21. I think that their relationship grows, and that Sophie is a huge factor that Creighton is changed at the end of the book, rather than what he acted like at the start. She and him got along pretty well, (for the most part) and i think that she had a good influence on Creighton, and helped him become the person he is at the end of the book. I think that they are good friends and that was a good relationship in the story; rather than hearing about the rocky relationship between Gower and Creighton.

  22. I believe that Sophie and Creightons relationship has really evolved from when they first met. At first when Sophie found that Creighton was English she had no respect for him, and didn't trust him. They didn't get along. But as the story goes on they become closer through the hardships they both endure. They come to understand and respect each other.

  23. I believe that the relationship between Sophie and Creighton is mostly professional. When they first met, I think they got off to a rough start because Creighton was British and Sophie despised that. Throughout the book, I think their relationship grew. They worked well together in the print shop and got along most of the time. Some of the time, Creighton got on Sophie's nerves but she forgave him quickly. Towards the end of the book, I think that Sophie gained more respect for Creighton.

  24. my opinion on sophie and creighton throughout the book was kinda like a roller coaster. the relationship started out going down hill because she didnt like the fact that he was british. then when she got to know him she began liking him for who he is. Then they got into an argument, but when he came back she was excited and happy to see him.and in the end they had a good relationship.

  25. I think that Sophie and Creightion's relationship started out rocky. Creighton was stuck up and rude when he first came to America, and Sophie didn't like that he was British, so they clashed heads for a while. Though as time went on the two moved past those differences in times of need, and Creighton's behavior shaped up making him more tolerable to everyone.

  26. In my opinion Sophie and Creighton's relationship has its ups and downs throughout the book. Starting off Creighton is VERY judgmental of Sophie and Sophie isn't much nicer back. In the middle of the book their relationship begins to grow, as the figure out each other better, but in the end they get a rather close relationship and become good friends in my opinion.

  27. In my opinion Sophie and Creighton's realationship is good and bad throughout the whole story. In the beginning Creighton doesn't understand what Sophie has been through and Sophie thinks Creighton is just another Englishman. Near the end of the story though, they start to understand each other and become closer as friends.

  28. My opinion is that Sophie and Creighton's relationship is on and off throughout the book. It seems whenever they would start to get along in the middle of the book Creighton would do something wrong and mess everything up. However at the end of the book they got along just fine. I think when Ben Franklin died it brought them even even closer together. All in all if the book kept going on I think they would fall in love at some point but for now they are just good friends.

  29. Sophie and Creighton's relationship, in my opinion, is very iffy. Depending on both of their moods that day they could either be nice, snippy, rude, or just plain mean to eachother. They butt heads alot on their opinions about almost anything. The war, the printing shop, and even about Creighton being an English boy and she doesn't like the English because they came and took over her town where her family was at.

  30. In the beginning of book Creighton and Sophie despise eachother. Then, during the middle they see past eachothers flaws and didn't worry about what country they're from. Throughout the story as Creighton helps Sophie with the printing press, they start getting along better. I think Sophie realizes how much Creighton helps with the newspapers and realizes he's not too bad after all. In the end i think they turn out relying on eachother for support.

  31. Sophie and Creighton's relationship wasn't very good at first because Sophie had stereotyped Creighton to be like the British that came to her home country, and Creighton was acting pretty stuck up. Further into the story, they get along better, but still argue over alot of stuff. in the end of the story they are good friends because they went through alot together like saving the printing shop. So i think that even though they werent really good friends in the beginning, their relationship has grown a lot.

  32. Oh Sophie and Creighton, the lengths I could go explaining my opinion. Well, in shortest means, their relationship is actually like most relationships with friends of opposite genders. They fight, bicker, get on each others nerves. Just young naive teenagers wanting to know about life. Sophie can't decide whether or not to hate or like Creighton and Creighton is just a guy and never knows what he wants. Though their relationship was rocky(very very on the fritz) at the beginning of the book, by the end they became fairly good friends and would probably always have each others backs.

  33. I think that Sophie and Creighton really started out on the wrong foot with both Sophie and Creighton being a bit judgmental and a little spiteful towards each other. Then they got to know each other and began to become friends. After Franklin died though, they clashed on some opinions and Creighton had to leave while they were still mad at each other. After Creighton got back, Sophie accepted him because she was working on forgiveness.

  34. I think that it is good but it could use some work. They really need to learn to work things out and not just kick each other out when times get hard. On the other hand they are both usually there for each other. They also do try to go through some things but it is more like going through a problem with that one person not both of them together and i think that is how a real relationship is built, by finding mistakes made together or even by one person but working them out together no matter what instead of kicking them out. So yes they have a good relationship but it could be better.

  35. I believe Creighton and Sophie's opion of each other is very unpredictable. They are each foreigners in this country and their home countries are enemies. Creighton and Sophie's opinions of each other are effected by each person's words and even body behavior.

  36. The starting relationship of Sophie and Creigton wasn't very good. Sophie was from France and Creigton was from England and those two countries never really got along well. But, as the story progressed and they spent more time together, they got to know each other better and realized that they shouldn't judge each other based on their counries background and they became better friends.

  37. In my opinion, Sophie and Creighton's relationship is a little twisted. They can argue about anything. It started off with Creighton coming from England and how Sophie doesn't like the British. Also, with Creighton's personality it is hard for him to become good friends with anyone. Overall, I think that their relationship grew within the book.

  38. In my opinion I believe Crieghton and Sophie's relationship go from good to bad. At one moment they like eachother then something is said about their culture or done at the print shop. Therefore I think they are good friends because good friends fight and make up after the problem.

  39. Sophie and Creighton's relationship started off horrible with all of the differences they had. But soon after, they began talking and started to at least deal with each other. A couple weeks before the Printing shop burned down, i think they actually started to become friends. Finally, when Creighton came back to New Orleans the relationship they had before, remained the same. Friends; but nothing more. (so far)

  40. From my perspective, their relationship has had good and bad points. First Creighton is from England and that relationship with with France(where Sophie is from) isn't very good. Then it gets worse by her being an American. The good points have been about them learning about and from each other by their actions

  41. I think that Creighton and Sophie kind of have a love/hate relationship. At first Creighton felt like he didn't have to be nice to anyone in New Orleans, but as he started helping the Patriots, he became nicer to everyone, including Sophie. And I think that Sophie is trying to be nice to Creighton by working on her virtues.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think they have a kind of relationship that will never be broken even if they may fight, they have been through horrible events together and they may not know it but they depend on each other. When Creighton was sick Sophie nursed him back to health, when Sophie wanted to rebuild the print shop, Creighton helped. I also think it was a lot of Sophie's doing that helped turned Creighton to the patriot cause, she believed fully and the way she acts I really think it helped him. Also how strong headed and stubborn Sophie is matches exactly with the stubbornness of Creighton I think it will spark fights that will make them be mad but also pull them together when they make up.

  43. Sophie and Creighton's relationship starts bad and ends worse. At first, Sophie and Creighton do not get along she is from France and he is from England. England and France are somewhat enemies and don't get along. Also on Creighton's first day he ruins her full page of types and she has to start over, so that really sets them off on the wrong foot. Then as the story goes on they become less repelled form each other and become friends. Last, Creighton blows their friendship when he starts talk of war in Dr. Franklin's house and Sophie refuses to listen to war talk in a place where it would not be allowed if Franklin hadn't passed. Creighton and Sophie get in a fight and eventually Sophie had enough with Creighton's arguing and tells him to leave.

  44. I think sophie and and Creighton's relationship improved more and more as Creighton was more and more pursuaded by the American cause. As he gradually began to think better of the people he was with, he began to treat sophie more nicely thus causing her to treat him more nicely. At the end, when Creighton considers himself to be an American i think that he and Sophie also consider each other to be clolse friends.

    ReplyDelete
  45. At first, Creighton and Sophie's relationship was rough, they could not get along because of their different ways. But, as the story goes on, their problems begin to resolve and they get along better, like Creighton treating her better and Sophie being considerate of Creighton.

    ReplyDelete
  46. in a nutshell Sophie early on expected Creighton to be an annoying burden but later on they became good friends and continued to print in the print shop after the book.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sophie and Creighton have an odd relationship. At first Sophie couldn't stand Creighton because he was English, but luckily she was working on humility. Creighton didn't seem to like her much either because he looked down on every American, but as he started changing himself and his loyalties, they grew closer as friends. In the end of the book I think they have a good relationship and I think they will continue to be friends and keep working at the printing shop to keep Franklin’s legacy continuing.

    ReplyDelete
  48. In the beginning, Sofie couldn't stand Creighton because he was English, and Creighton couldn't stand Sofie because she was American. As the book progresses, Sofie and Creighton start to see that they aren't so different in personalities. They work well together in the printing shop and start to get along pretty well.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Their realtionship is rocky, sophie hated that creighton was a stuck up brit, and creighton looked down on everything american, but when creighton starts becoming a patriot they become closer, and when creighton geets hurt sophie cared for him, i think they will continue to be friends.

    ReplyDelete
  50. To me, Creighton and Sophie got off to a bad start. they were completly opposit of each other. As the story progressed thier friendship got better but was still kinda bumpy. Then, I think they decided they needed each other and decided to forget about their differences and try being friends. I believe they were both happy with how their friendship turned out at the end of the story.

    ReplyDelete
  51. They started off with a bad relationship and it keeps getting better and also getting worse at the same time. But Creighton is English and she is French so somethimes they dont get aloung because of that but they become good friends and work in the print shop together at he end.

    ReplyDelete
  52. At first, they were not too fond of each other. They were both very different from each other, Creighton was just a rude English man, and Sophie was just a normal American girl who Creighton was not fond of most Americans. But like all relationships, they take time to grow, and their relationship did indeed grow. Soon they become close friends. After the book i think they remain good friends and that's all it will really ever be.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think Sophie took alot of her anger out on Creighton in the beginning. She recented the English for running her family out of Canada. Her parents were seperated and died living her an orphan. Eventually she began to trust Creighton and even helped him get better after the fire. I think Creighton and Sophie will be able to work well together at the paper.
